I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Creamy Pasta Salad

Make a batch of this to bring along to a party or picnic.
It serves 10-12

You'll need:

5 cups pasta (I used penne)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
4 tbsps chopped red pepper
2 chopped celery stalks
1 finely chopped carrot

1   1/2 cups mayo
1/2 cup sour cream
5 oz. evaporated milk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp pepper

Cook the pasta to al dente.  I cooked my penne for 6 or 7 minutes.  Rinse in cold water, then toss with the vegetables.

Mix the dressing up and stir it into the salad if serving right away.  If you plan on serving it later on or even the next day, reserve about 1 cup of dressing to be added when you are ready to serve as the pasta will absorb some of it.
