I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Cinnamon Heart Cookies

No, not those candy cinnamon hearts. Actual cinnamon like cinnamon buns.

Use this Cinnamon Roll Cookie recipe with a couple of variations.

http://hotandcoldrunningmom.blogspot.ca/2015/12/cinnamon-roll-cookies.html

To the dough add some red food colouring and 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips.

Once you roll up the cookie dough and cinnamon smear

then press a wooden spoon handle along the top of the roll to form the top of the heart.

Then form the sealed edge into a point. Freeze 15 minutes.

When cutting you may have to re-form the shape a little and don't forget to keep any dough that is waiting it's turn for the oven in the fridge or freezer to keep it's shape.

Bake 375 F for 12-15 minutes

Happy Valentine's Day
