I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Three Cheese Oven Baked Sloppy Joes

Were you looking for an easy cheesy mid-week meal that can be prepared ahead of time? You found it!

1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
2 tsps chili powder
2-3 tbsps cream cheese
2-3 drops srirracha sauce (optional)
4 hot dog buns
4 processed cheese slices
Shredded cheese to top (pizza mix, monterey jack, cheddar...)

Brown beef and onion in a skillet. Remove any excess fat and add garlic. Cook 1-2 minutes. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, worcestershire, brown sugar and chili powder. Simmer 10 minutes and remove from heat. You can even make it to this point and refrigerate for later use if you are so inclined.

Soften the cream cheese so it's easy to spread. (I zapped it in the microwave for 10 seconds) Mix in the srirracha sauce if you are using it and spread on one side of the buns. Cut the sliced cheese in half and put the 2 triangles on the other side of the bun. Sit the buns in a baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking oil.

Stuff each bun with the sloppy joe mixture and top with your choice of shredded cheese. If you are making these for later in the day just cover and refrigerate, but take them out of the fridge 1 hour prior to baking.

When you are ready, bake at 350 F covered for 30 minutes.

Sooooo cheeeeeezzzzyyyy!
